Prominent Edge Alarms

Information about Prominent Edge alarms and how to clear them.

Alarms in a prominent controller can be latching or non-latching alarms.

  • Non-latching alarms: reset themselves once the parameter recovers back into acceptable range. using this is rare.
  • Latching alarms: do not reset themselves until the operator acknowledges the alarm.

Latching alarms are especially helpful for bodies of water where the tech checks on the pool a few times a day or less. This is a safety backup.

Types of ALARMS

Dosing Alarm- Each chemical pump/feeder is set to run for a set programmed amount of time. Once that set time is exhausted the chemical pump/feeder will stop and the controller will go into alarm. The chemical pump/feeder will not start again until the alarm is acknowledged and cleared.

High/Low Alarm- Each sensor (pH , ORP, PPM, etc..) has a set programmed high and low value assigned to it. Once the sensor valve reaches that set high or low number the controller will go into alarm.

Flow- When the controller loses flow, it will go into a no flow alarm.
