Controller Installation Instructions

Some tips and tricks if you are installing a chemical controller

MOUNTING

Controller Mounting

  • The Chemical Controller should be mounted 65 inches from the floor to the top of the controller, ensuring the screen is at eye level;
  • Ensure clear access to the controller. The operator should be able to walk up to and operate the controller without obstructions;
  • For safety reasons, do not mount controllers over electrical outlets or receptacles. This is to prevent potential electrical hazards and interference with controller operation;
  • Cords should be looped and secured with zip ties in a tidy manner to prevent trip hazards and ensure a neat setup.

Dosing Pump Mounting

  • Do not mount dosing pumps directly below or above the chemical controller. This is to prevent potential interference or damage to the controller or pumps;
  • If possible, separate the chlorine and acid pump. This is to prevent potential chemical interactions and increase efficiency;
  • When mounting multiple dosing pumps, avoid stacking them directly above each other. This can help to prevent overheating and facilitate easier maintenance;
  • As a safety precaution, do not mount chemical pumps over electrical outlets or receptacles. This is to prevent potential electrical hazards and interference with pump operation;
  • Cords should be looped and secured with zip ties in a tidy manner to prevent trip hazards and ensure a neat setup;
  • If using Stenner pumps, the use of rain covers is strongly recommended for outdoor applications to protect the pump from the elements.

Installing Tube Routing

  • Drill and tap a 1/4 inch NPT (National Pipe Thread) hole on either side of any valve after the filter that can create differential pressure;
  • Install the chemical injection downstream of both the inlet and return for the chemical controller;
  • Install the acid injector upstream of the chlorine injector. This is to prevent potential chemical reactions that could impair the effectiveness of the chlorine;
  • If possible, space injectors 12 inches apart to ensure optimal function;
  • Tubes should be secured to existing lines with zip ties in a tidy and straight manner to prevent potential damage and ensure a neat setup;
  • Do not return the controller to the suction side of the pump. This is to avoid potential damage or malfunction of the controller.
