How to Check ORP Probe Calibration
Checking ORP probe calibration can be done to determine if ORP probe is still tracking correctly.
Items needed:
1) ORP probe connected to controller
2) Buffer solution 650mV
3) Glass of water.
* Note Redox is another term for ORP
Steps:
- Make sure the ORP probe is connected to controller
- Isolate controller from flow
- Unscrew ORP probe from probe housing
- Wash probe in water
- Shake off probe
- Go to calibration menu click on mV calibration
- Immerse probe into buffer solution 650 mV
- Wait until the number under reading stabilizes
- Calibrate probe under P2
- Save
- Wash probe in clean water
- Shake off probe
- Place probe back into probe container
- Turn on flow to controller
Troubleshooting: If when the probe is immersed in the buffer solution the reading on the calibration screen does not match the buffer solution, your probe needs to be replaced.
