How to Store a PPM Sensor
If you are closing your pool for the season or doing any extended work on your pool, you need to store your PPM probe. This article covers how that is done.
If you are closing your pool for the season or doing any extended work on your pool, you need to store your PPM probe.
Items needed:
1) PPM probe
2) Clear cap for probe cap
3) Dust-free latex gloves
Steps:
- Unplug equipment from power source
- Make sure there is no flow to controller
- Disconnect cable from the top of probe
- Remove PPM probe from probe housing
- Unscrew cap from probe
- Loosen clear ring around cap to uncover the overflow hole
- Clean end of probe under low pressure running water to remove any old gel
- Also clean the old gel out of the cap of the probe use your fingers if necessary, avoid touching the membrane at the tip.
- Let probe and cap completely dry
- Once everything is dry screw cap back onto probe
- Replace the clear ring back over overflow hole
- Protect the bottom of cap by placing the clear cover over cap
- Store in original box or somewhere that is debris free
