What To Do When VivoPoint Marks A Body of Water as Having "Corrupt Firmware"

How to correct "Corrupt firmware" on a DCM 51x or Edge 500 controller

 

To correct the issue immediately please follow these steps:

NOTE - The controller must be corrected in person from the Keypad. 


  1. Ensure you are at the main screen by pressing the ESC until the screen no longer changes 
  2. Press F1 for status
  3. Press the down arrow to cycle through the various inputs and outputs while searching for any that have a name that is missing letters and or is using strange characters. 
    * Note some people have described what is seen on the screen as "Hyroglifics" 
  4. Once that has been identified press ESC 
  5. Press Menu 
  6. Cycle through the menu until you find I/O Setup
  7. Press the down arrow until you find the same input identified earlier
  8. Press OK on the input 
  9. Navigate to configure and press ok 
  10. Navigate to disable and press okay. 
  11. Press ESC to main screen 
  12. Fetch reading on VivoPoint and verify that it does not say “Corrupt Firmware” in the reading log. 

If unable to find input that has odd characters in the name or you are unable to disable the input. Contact VivoAquatics Technical support as a full system reset may be required to resolve the issue. 


Update firmware to the most recent version to prevent this from happening in the future.
